Kappo Yoshiba

Kappo Yoshiba

Kappo Yoshiba is situated in Ryogoku, close to Kokugikan sumo stadium. The restaurant's specialty is chanko, or sumo wrestlers' stew. The entire second floor can be booked out, encompassing a series of five connecting rooms. The restaurant used to be a sumo stable, and the dohyo, or sumo-ring, still lies in the center of the restaurant, giving a "ring-side" atmosphere. Seats around the dohyo require prior reservation. Three times a week various cultural performances are given.
