The 610-meter (2, 001-feet) "Tokyo Sky Tree, " a broadcasting tower that is designed with a nod to the traditional architecture of Japanese shrines and temples, will be the tallest structure in Japan when completed. The Sky Tree is being built in the Mukojima district, a quick hop from popular tourist destinations like Asakusa and Ryogoku, and will be easily accessible by public transport. In this convenient location it is anticipated that the Mukojima area will become another tourist hotspot in Tokyo, with a mixture of new and old. The new structure is scheduled for completion in spring 2012.
