Team-up with the “Tokyo Daredemo Bon Dance” in Tokyo
From April 2019, three exciting new programs have been added to the Tokyo’s Special Offers for Corporate & Incentive Travel.
An incentive travel group from a Chinese insurance company tried one of these new programs, the “Tokyo Daredemo Bon Dance”, at their event. “Daredemo” is Japanese for “anybody”, as the dance was designed to draw in all types of incentive trip participants, and keep them happy and healthy. During the event, our staff and the high-energy performers showed off the moves of “Team Tokyo”, inspiring the audience to get up and enjoy themselves as well.
The Tokyo Souvenir Project has also launched a new giveaway of “Happy Daruma,” or lucky dolls, which are purported to grant the wishes of their owners. Recently, the dolls were received with great enthusiasm by an incentive travel group from Hong Kong.
TCVB is always striving to provide even better services and events for groups visiting Tokyo. Please keep us in mind when planning your next incentive or corporate trip!

Showcase Event at the Japanese Sword Museum
The Japanese Sword Museum’s mission is to preserve Japanese swords and share their beauty with the public at home and abroad. In July 2019, the TCVB held a showcase event at the Japanese Sword Museum as a practical demonstration of the possible uses of unique venues in Tokyo. Around 100 people from embassies based in Tokyo and global companies gathered to appreciate the beauty of Japanese swords, while enjoying local sake and locally-sourced ingredients.
The inside of the venue was decorated with bamboo, while the old Yasuda Garden adjacent to the venue was beautifully illuminated with bamboo lanterns, creating a classically Japanese atmosphere.
To make sure the event was environmentally friendly, the TCVB used biodegradable paper plates, called "WASARA," as serving dishes and plates for the guests. After the event, all of the WASARA dishes were composted into soil.
The meal was particularly well received by the guests, who appreciated the emphasis on sustainability through the use of WASARA plates. The attractions were also a highlight, making for a special evening that was jam-packed with Japanese culture.
