The Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau (TCVB) is delighted to announce that Tokyo has placed the winning bid to host the World Confederation for Physical Therapy General Meeting and Congress in 2023* at the Tokyo International Forum on May 30 - June 4, 2023.

The WCPT Congress in 2023 is expected to be one of WCPT’s largest with over 6,000 delegates from over 120 countries, as the Japanese Physical Therapy Association (JPTA) is currently WCPT’s largest member organisation. As part of the congress a range of events will be planned to maximise participation from physical therapists in Japan and the global physical therapy community.

The WCPT Executive Board was impressed by the commitment and preparation shown by JPTA in its congress bid as well as the opportunities presented by Tokyo. JPTA has strong backing from other member organisations in the region. At the WCPT General Meeting held in Geneva on 9 May 2019, WCPT President Emma Stokes said “JPTA is very committed to making the congress a great success and we are looking forward to working with the Japanese physical therapy community to deliver another exciting global event”.
