The World Congress of the International Federation of Fertility Societies is Coming to Tokyo in April 2025
The Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau (TCVB) is delighted to announce that Tokyo has placed the winning bid to host the World Congress of the International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS) from April 25 to April 29, 2025. The Congress will be held at the city's flagship facility, the Tokyo International Forum.
IFFS 2025, the second such gathering in Japan since 1971, is expected to attract over 4,000 participants, including 1,500 from abroad from more than 30 countries.
This triennial Congress will provide a unique platform for attendees to contribute to advancing basic scientific research, disseminate and share the latest advanced reproductive medical treatment practices, and understand Japan's cutting-edge reproductive medicine, raising medical standards globally.
The Congress in Tokyo is certain to become a memorable event for all concerned, as 2025 is the 70th anniversary of the Japan Society for Reproductive Medicine (JSRM) which hosts the Congress.
The deciding factors for Tokyo's winning bid were Japan's long-standing, active contributions to IFFS's mission, promised sponsorship from many pharmaceutical companies specializing in reproductive medicine, and solid Congress plans by the Japan Bid Committee.
A generous subsidy from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) to provide financial and in-kind support for the Congress was also essential in selecting Tokyo. TCVB played a significant role, bringing considerable expertise and experience in support of the Japan Bid Committee in preparing its bid proposal and presentation materials.
The convening of this Congress in Tokyo - the center of academic activities of numerous research-oriented societies - will significantly impact academia in Japan. The TMG and TCVB will continue to offer support to deliver a successful and unforgettable IFFS Congress in Tokyo.
