Tokyo was named the Second-best City in the World by the Conde Nast Traveler, a luxury travel and lifestyle magazine, in its annual Readers' Choice Awards 2023 survey.
The Readers' Choice Awards is the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry. The results of the 36th annual survey reflect cities beloved for their food, architecture and art, and high-ranking cities are prioritized by potential visitors.
The magazine presents Tokyo as "a regular in the best cities list, that continues to thrill with its contradictions: ultra-modern, neon skyscrapers and tranquil temples, unmatchable street style and centuries-old etiquette.
