The Current Situation in Tokyo
The Japanese government has closed its borders to new entries by foreign nationals, including business travelers, until December 31, as fears of the new omicron variant of the coronavirus grow.
However, as new COVID-19 cases drastically declined across the country, the Japanese government has eased the attendance cap for large-scale events. There is an attendance cap of 10,000 persons if an infection prevention plan is implemented. Furthermore, the full capacity of a venue can be used if the "vaccine/test package system," where attendees show a vaccine certificate or a negative test result upon entry, is implemented at the venue.
