The Current Situation in Tokyo
To stave off the omicron variant amid the resurgence in COVID-19 cases, the Japanese government will put Tokyo under a quasi-state of emergency effective January 21 to February 13. Dining facilities are requested to close early (9 p.m. at the latest) and stop or limit the serving of alcohol.
An attendance cap of 20,000 persons is in place for holding events. The venue's full capacity can be used if an infection prevention plan is implemented.
