The Current Situation in Tokyo
The government of Japan has put Tokyo under a state of emergency until August 22 in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Restaurants and bars serving alcohol are required to close. Dining facilities stopping serving alcohol may remain open until 8 p.m.
Events are restricted to half the venue capacity and up to 5,000 attendees, whichever figure is lower, and must conclude by 9 p.m.
