DMO TOKYO Marunouchi Combining the Otemachi, Marunochi and Yurakucho areas, the “Tokyo Marunouchi Area” is situated in the very heart of the Metropolis between the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station. This is one of several areas in Tokyo where meeting spaces, exhibition halls and hotels are located closely to each other and are working together in order to positively attract business events to Tokyo. Founded this year, DMO TOKYO Marunouchi and its community, in addition to meeting facilities and accommodations, offers a one-stop solution for various services including party planning, activities and more. There is a huge potential for a variety of business events in this area with its wide selection of convention facilities led by Tokyo International Forum recognized as the capital’s flagship facility, world-class hotel banquet facilities including Forbes Travel Guide 5-star rated Palace Hotel Tokyo and The Peninsula Tokyo, unique public spaces such as Marunouchi Nakadori Street available for use, as well as many choices for having fun after the event, including shopping in neighboring Ginza. Tokyo Marunouchi Area represents the first time that the regulations needed to use public spaces for business events have been created, making Marunouchi Nakadori Street a very special event space. This area is constantly developing. The new Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) Building, which is currently under construction, will make a debut in October 2018. In addition to that, other venues with more new conference facilities are scheduled to be opened, which contributes to raise expectations higher for Tokyo Marunouchi as a business events area. Explore Tokyo’s unique possibilities: Tokyo Technology TCVB is excited to announce the creation of a new booklet promoting business meetings and incentive events, Tokyo: More Ideas for Meetings & Incentives. The booklet is aimed at international business meeting organizers and incentive event planners and presents the theme of “insight into Tokyo” in an exciting and informative way across the five categories of CSR – Tokyo Style, Savor a Unique Culture, Team up in Tokyo, City of Enterprise and Tokyo Technology. One program that we are particularly excited about concerns technology and robots. During this program, participants can actually meet and interact with robots in Tokyo. As a city renowned for its technological advancement, what better ambassador for Tokyo than an adorable robot? This responsibility fell to Robohon, a cute, compact and highly intelligent robot, which can act as a phone, personal assistant, camera, projector, and even a friend who will sing and dance for you. During the program held this autumn, meeting planners from mainly Asian countries were invited on a FAM trip to Tokyo. The welcome dinner was led by Robohon, who acted as special TCVB member of staff to give a presentation about the city, and even performed the traditional Japanese dance, “Sakura Sakura”, for everyone’s enjoyment. Robohon’s performance was a great conversation starter, which helped everyone relax and break the ice. The participants were also thrilled at the chance to experience Tokyo’s cutting-edge technology for themselves. This unusual presentation created more of a stir than any presentation given by a human could, and was a great surprise for the participants. Robohon would also be happy to offer its services at welcome parties or other business events. TCVB is continually creating exciting programs, which show the best of what Tokyo has to offer. Please do not hesitate to contact us for advice on how to make the most of your corporate event or incentive trip scheduled in Tokyo. The Flicker Book of Tokyo: More Ideas for Meetings & Incentives is available on the TCVB Website |

Hama-rikyu Gardens – a breathtaking historical venue opens its doors With easy access from international conference venues and hotels around Tokyo, Hama-rikyu Gardens is a famous, traditional Japanese garden built in the Edo period (1603-1867) that belonged to the Tokugawa Shogunate. This October, "Tokyo Prime Night,” a party hosted by a domestic travel agency, was held in Hama-rikyu Gardens. This was the first time that a private company had held an event in this large garden with over 300 years of history. 270 participants from Japan and abroad enjoyed performances of traditional Japanese arts during the party. Elegantly illuminated, this unique venue helped to create the perfect atmosphere for another unforgettable and charming event in our capital.
